1.) Don't Starve
|
It's a fight for survival in the unforgiving wilderness. | | | | | | | |

Don't Starve is a personal favorite of mine. A rouge-like game developed by Klei Entertainment where every new world is procedurally generated, meaning no two worlds are alike. Explore the world, set up a base camp, keep your sanity in check, and for Pete's sake, don't forget to eat! Once you get the hang of this, you'll find surviving a sinch, at least until winter comes knocking. Keep yourself warm, always have a fire ready, and do NOT anger the Deerclops.

Trust me, this guy is NOT your friend. |

2.) The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth
|
Poor little Isaac... |
Made by the famed indie developer Edmund McMillen, The Binding Of Isaac: Rebirth follows in the same rouge-like theme of Don't Starve with procedurally generated levels each time you play. This game takes inspiration from the original Legend of Zelda, with a top-down perspective and rooms filled with badies that really don't like you. Grab power ups as you venture deep into the heart of evil and achieve victory. Or you could die. Over and over and over again. It's a part of the process.
|
Now THAT is a powered up Isaac! |

3.) Invisible, Inc.
|
Yes, you can go invisible. Just so long as you have a cloak handy. |
Another rouge-like developed by Klei Entertainment (starting to see a pattern?), Invisible, Inc. is set in a future where corporations run the world (don't ask). Your task is to infiltrate these corporations and take what you can from them. Some missions will have you breaking out a fellow agent from a detention center to recruit them, others will have you breaking into highly secure vaults to make off with a tidy profit. One thing is certain, you will encounter heavy fortifications and a plethora of underpaid security gaurds.

Poor guy won't know what hit him. |
This game comes highly recommended, and seeing as it came out fairly recently, you can bet you'll see even more of this game in the coming months. And if for any reason this short blog post has convinced you to buy it for yourself, go to the official website to get the damn thing!
